what's the cross-talk exactly is and how it's remove?
Case-1
If your friend is calling and you answer that call you found yourself speaking with the an unknown guy.
on the other hand your friend is not hearing you "silent" it is called cross-talk Issue.

Cross-talk scenarios

There are several cross-talk scenarios some of them are mentioned bellow
  1. Two pair of E1's are cross wired ie. one pair TX is connected with the Rx of the other E1 pair then it will cause a cross talk issue.
  2. E1 on A-interface are mixed up it will also cause this issue.
  3. when the GSM cell's are very close to each other and both the cells having same BSIC and frequency.
  4. it will also occurs when MSC have a transmission handling faults.

SDCCH Call Drops

Formula to find SDCCH call drops:
call Drop rate SDCCH= (Call drop on SD/ Successful SD seizure + successful SD seizure signalling channel HO)*100

Factors that can effecting the SD call drops:

  • Hardware Failure.
  • Transmission fault.
  • Inter and Intra-Network interference.
  • Imbalance antenna coverage between UL/DL.

Hardware Failure
when TRx or combiner is become faulty then it will increase the call drops.

Transmission fault

Fluctuation in the transmission media can effect TCH Availability, it will definitely  effect the network efficiency as well as it cause call drops

Inter and Intra-Network interference

one should try to reduce the interference it will cause call drops. trying to better the DL/UL Quality.

Solutions to reduce the SDCCH call drops.

check the Hardware
Check transmission Media
checking the interference and checking the repeaters we are able to reduce the call drops
